FMS BATHTUB REFINISHING
LIMITED WARRANTY:
Bathtub, wall tile, and fiberglass fixtures are warranted for a period of Five years against peeling or other failure of adhesion of the coating. Refinishing done on sinks, counter tops, floors, spot (chip repairs) and all other surfaces are warranted for a period of Five years against failures of adhesion, unless some other period is otherwise stated on the face of the invoice. FMS Bathtub Refinishing provides this warranty and is subject to the following conditions which will void your warranty.
1. The surface must not be allowed to remain continuously wet from items such as bath mats left on the surface without drying out between uses.
2. The fixture must not be used for water storage or contain standing water for extended periods of time.
3. Damage caused by continuous wetness from leaking or dripping plumbing.
4. Damage, chips, or nicks caused by sharp or falling objects or by misuse.
5. Staining or discoloration from chemicals, bleaches, rust or hair dyes.
6. The use of abrasive cleaners.
7. Any movement in the structure of the surface, which causes movement in the refinished surface resulting in, cracks or splits in the refinished surface or grout lines.
In the event of any failure covered under this performance warranty, FMS Bathtub Refinishing will, at our option, either (1.) repair the failed area, (2.) refinish the entire fixture, or (3.) refund the full or betterment/depreciation price of the job to you! Caulk, plumbing, and shower doors are not warranted. Travel charges may apply if the fixture is located out of our service area. Call out fee of $65, applies after 1 year from the invoice date. Hourly charges of $46.00 (CDN), apply to non-warranty repairs.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS: Use only non-abrasive, liquid cleaners on FMS refinished surface. A spray cleaner such as Formula 409, Fantastic, or any liquid cleaner, which does not contain abrasives, bleach, or chlorine, may be used. For best results, spray the surface and let it penetrate for 3-5 minutes before wiping. A “Tuffy” scrub pad or any plastic cleaning pad designed to on Teflon surfaces works well. Extend the life of your refinished surface with the use of “Get Gloss” (available at most supermarkets) or any polymer based polish every six months.
COLOR: The standard color for FMS Bathtub Refinishing is white. Any color other than pure white requires making pigments, and MUST BE APPROVED BY THE CUSTOMER before the finish can be applied. Please choose carefully, as the color once applied cannot be changed except by completely reapplying new materials (at the customer’s expense).
PLUMBING: Our workmen are not plumbers. They are not trained, equipped, licensed or authorized to do plumbing. If they remove or replace any pipes or fixtures at your request, it is done solely as a courtesy and the responsibility for any damage is yours. Our workmen may, under certain circumstances, find it necessary to remove or loosen handles, spouts, drain pieces, or overflow covers. In those cases, we will be responsible for returning those pieces to their original places, unless the age or general decay of pipes or fixtures makes this impossible. Please inform our workman or the estimator if your plumbing is old or in questionable condition, so that we can take special precautions or leave it completely undisturbed.
PAINT AND WALLPAPER: If you are repairing or re-wallpapering your bathroom, please wait to do so until after we have done the FMS Bathtub Refinishing. In order to protect paint or wallpaper, we must mask it. Masking tape can pull up small pieces of the surface it is stuck to when it is removed. If you wish to preserve the existing wallpaper or paint, please alert the workman. He will use less-sticky tape and be especially careful.
MATERIALS: FMS Bathtub Refinishing technicians use materials and chemicals specifically designed for refinishing. They are trained in the proper use and handling of those materials which generally should not create any kind of health hazard for the customer. However, as a precautionary measure, we suggest that anyone with special sensitivities to solvent or paint-type smells remain out of the immediate area during the refinishing process. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for the materials to be used are available for your review upon request.
PREPARATION: Please remove all loose items from the bathroom BEFORE our workman arrives to do the refinishing. This includes curtains, pictures, shower accessories, and rugs. If you are planning to replace your plumbing fixtures with new ones after we refinish, the old fixtures should be removed before we arrive. New fixtures can usually be installed the day after refinishing is complete.
SCHEDULING: FMS Bathtub Refinishing office hours are usually 9:00am to 5:00pm. Monday through Friday. Please call us immediately if you have any questions or problems, of it a scheduling conflict arises. If scheduling changes are necessary, please give us AT LEAST TWO WORKING DAYS of advance notice. Otherwise we are not able to rearrange our schedule and avoid leaving a workman idle.
TERMS DUE ON COMPLETION: We accept CASH, or CERTIFIED FUNDS. On the final day of the job, the workman will present you with an invoice for the work. Please plan either to be there on the final day to inspect the work and take care of payment, or arrange in advance for your cash or certified cheque payment to be there when the job is complete. Your warranty will be on the back of your copy of the invoice.
